HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT SOPHIE PARIS AND OUR PRODUCTS?
I discovered it when I passed by a store selling Sophie products and the cosmetics section caught my eye. With the unrelenting enthusiasm of the sales lady, I bought a Magic Pink. I was always “on the go” so I was so astonished with how the Magic Pink was so easy to apply on my cheeks and lips. I was completely sold when people started noticing and giving me compliments. I soon went back to the same store and signed up for membership.
WHAT ENCOURAGED YOU TO PURSUE A SOPHIE BUSINESS?
I was a pregnant work-from-home mom taking care of an 8 year old son and a sick parent when I started my online selling business via social media. I had to do it to help my family while my husband was applying abroad. I sold goods from RTW, household items, to cosmetics – pretty much just anything that sells quickly. That was when Ms. Angela Ferrer saw my potential and asked if I wanted to be a Sub-Center for San Jose City, Nueva Ecija. The idea excited me but I was hesitant at first because I wasn’t sure if I can handle people. With her daily persistence and encouragement, I finally accepted the offer.
HOW WAS THE START OF YOUR SOPHIE BUSINESS?
Being a mom and doing the business at the same time wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the people who constantly motivate and push me to be the best that I can be. Running a business is not easy because it is real work, but I wouldn’t say it is hard either. The community that Sophie has created made the difference, giving and opening so many opportunities to people, especially moms like me, to make our dreams come true.
WHAT WERE YOUR INITIAL FEARS AND CHALLENGES & HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
It initially felt like I was heading into the unknown. How do I move the products? How many more people will join when it seems that most of the people I know on Facebook are already signed up? Can I juggle the business with raising kids? These were the questions that kept popping in my head. As I was being walked through the business and was getting to know some of the members, it was not as difficult as I thought it would be since the members were always excited about the products and motivated to do the business. What excites me even more is how fast we became known not just in Nueva Ecija but in the whole Philippines. It motivated me to go the extra mile and become a leader that these members deserve. I needed to give my 101% every day to keep the whole team going.
DO YOU FEEL SOPHIE WAS ABLE TO DEVELOP YOU PERSONALLY AND PROFESSIONALLY?
Sophie honed the creative and innovative side of me. Coming up with activities to generate sales and push products is no laughing matter. It takes a wealth of skills, creativity, sheer determination and community work to make just one activity a success. My interpersonal skills have also improved. I used to be a reluctant and naive seller – “buy if you want, don’t if you don’t want to” – that was a prevailing theme before I was introduced to Sophie. Now, I became more interested in knowing people and learning about what they want and need. I’ve also learned to keep abreast with what’s trendy to influence members, especially moms, to be more fashionable, and step out of their shell with a dash of glam.
HOW DID SOPHIE HELP YOU ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS AND HOW DID IT AFFECT YOUR LIFE?
Sophie realized many of my dreams. Being a fulltime stay-at-home mom and a business owner at the same time is definitely an accomplishment. Sophie is a means for me to create a better life for my kids and I am proud to say that I’ve increased my bank savings with the help of my monthly Sophie rebates and retail sales earnings. What I was earning in Sophie is more than enough for our daily upkeep that I don’t even have to spend the money my husband sends us from abroad. My husband and I are thinking of saving up the extra money to invest for our kids’ future. We will start with their college plans! But the financial reward is only secondary to the professional and personal growth that I’ve acquired. It is a great confidence builder. I am both a sales magnet and a social influencer, all these in one very lucrative and straightforward career choice.
WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT SOPHIE? WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO SUCCEED?
I love the unlimited opportunities for the Sophie team. We have become lifelong friends and business partners. I love the fact that Sophie is a one-stop-shop of a wide variety of products that most fashionistas are looking for. This makes it easier to push the products. Just as important, I love my team and the community of Sophienistas who are always willing to share their time and effort.
DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS THAT YOU WANT TO SHARE TO OTHER SOPHIE MEMBERS WHO ASPIRE TO BECOME A SOPHIE LEADER?
Putting 101% of yourself would require a ton of hard work but don’t let this count you out before you even count yourself in. Love the products and use them every day until the products become YOU! Starve for ideas and be a good listener. Let everyone’s ideas count, especially the leaders. The reason they are who and what they are now is because they follow what they’ve been told to. Make your fears your sole enemy!
WHAT IS YOU SOPHIE GOAL THIS 2020?
My ultimate Sophie goal is to thrive and be the best sales person that I can be. I want to become a leader, not just in sales, but in recruitment of new members too. Sophie is an opportunity that everyone willing to put in the work should try because of the immense benefits it offers.
